Grand Master Caz, Star Struck

Postby pove-one » Wed Jan 22, 2014 10:41 pm

I've been living in the BX since 03, i remember going to the post office on white plans road and standing in line, i look around and i spot The Grand Master Caz himself and the whole time I'm just staring at him, after he picked up his package and left, i just stood there, at no time did i walk up and ask for his autograph. that was the only time in my life i was star struck. i could see Denzel washington today and not be fazed, but Caz, forget it...

You should have talked to him. I have met Caz a bunch of times and he's a really cool dude, especially with fans. A few of the pioneers have chips on their shoulders (no names), but Caz ain't one of them.

I had a similar run in with Caz on my one and only trip to NYC. We swung by the famous 1520 Sedgwick Avenue apartment building and happened to run into a hip hop tour with Caz leading the way. So unbelievably I was able to get my photo taken with him in front of the historic location. I'm sure he probably just thought I was part of the tour.

I'm sure he would've been just as dumbstruck should you have mentioned who you were, John
