Mike, that's originally from Itchin' For A Scratch by Force MDs

Dang and I used to have that record. And I always thought it sounded like Eddie Murphy

Here's the original line that features, 'Time to lay down some serious sounds' ...

As well as a few old cuts which I cant place, it was used on the Capital Rap Show in the UK as an ID during the late 80s....

Believe it or not, its everyones favourite piano playing dog, Rowlf from The Muppets

I'm still having problems downloading the album but the "Doctor's Dilemma" track on your blog is a real revelation, with even more samples than the Joker song. Plus I've never heard the word "doubt" uttered with so much emphasis on the letter "b"

Seems like almost all of the Itchiban Scratch samples are from this record, do any of the other tracks on the Batman LP contain Itchiban samples?

Great stuff!

As well as being a font for sample detritus, im also an unreserved freak for these things too.....

Here are a few samples ive never discovered the origins of......Ive chopped down a few into one mp3, please dont hesitate to help out if you know where they originate. They are all from old tracks but one or two may have groundings in broadcasting......

It seems that 4 tracks off the Batman album contain samples. I've listed them below but tried to 'hide' them in case it spoilt the surprise for you. Just highlight them if you wanna view the info.

The Origin Of Captain Jan & Dean The Boy Wonder - "Henry" (0.52) / "Have a cookie" (0.57)
The Doctor's Dilemma - "A-hooo" (gurgling) (0.21) / "Captain!" (0.31) / "Hoshneecoeedo, doyshnot!" (01.13) / "Cool it, Doctor!" (01.46)
A Stench In Time - "Oh prune seeds" (0.56) / "Bleuurgh....it's time to change" (01.06)
The Joker Is Wild - "Last laugh" (02.25)

Some others....
"Automatic, push-button, remote-control, synthetic genetics command your soul" - which was used on MARRS - Pump Up The Volume is actually from Mean Machine Chant (from This Is Madness, 1971) The Last Poets.

Female scream ("Lemme hear you scream..") on Richie Rich's Turn It Up taken from BBC Sound Effects Vol. 13 - Death and Horror. Vocal Effects & Heartbeats, Band 1, Track 6.
Image This cover used to scare the bejesus out of me as a lad!
Listen to it here

All samples from Paul Hardcastle's "19" come from A Vietnam Requiem, which was a 1982 CBS documentary. It's available on import dvd on Amazon. Or if you're flash with the cash and keep it old school for real then it's available here for $999.99.

#5 is Whodini "The Haunted House of Rock" and if IRC there is an acapella on the 12".
I think most if not all of these are from Norman Cook's All-Star Breakbeats Volume 1.

Waddup Fellas. I've just arrived here via Ageing B Boys and this thread is killing me. I really thought I was the only person left alive who cared that Chuck Chillout scratched 'now that's a fire' off Eddie Murphy's Delerious stand up album. Sheeeet, you make a 'turning 40 next summer' B Boy feel very welcome. Well, my contribution to this amazing unearthment of sound bites is Kings Of Pressure - 'Tales From The Darkside' the line that goes 'I'd like to visit my brothers grave now' is from an old Dr Phibes black n white movie. I caught the line purely by chance just flicking through channels late one night about 15 years ago!
Again, I gotta say this thread is the most amazing shizzle! Peace brothers.

ERROR.......I'm sure I meant to say it was Grand Master Flash that cut up the Eddie Murphy 'Delirious' thing. I bought my vinyl copy from Jingles record shop right next door to Tooting Broadway tube station. Apologies for sounding like a sucker dj *cue Dimples D*

just watch, or listen, and again, feel yer jaw drop
